Saturday

Rushing branches
Scratching softly
Against the fence

Muffled Mexican
Bass booming
Laughter next door

Humming Machinery
Whirring, hissing
at my hip

Peanuts, too old
Now to eat
Jar on my desk

Saturday

    Potato chips
    And diet Dr. Pepper.
Waiting for the ampicillin to thaw,
And the LB to warm up
    The concoction that will nurture
    My little replication factories
    For just one day.
    They will die horribly tomorrow,
Giving everything a single celled organism can
All for the sake of furthering Man's understanding
    Of how We work.

I feel your pain, Bro. I feel your pain.......
